Recently, we completed an extensive analysis of our visitors and the type of information you were looking for. As a result, we realized our visitors could use more information in an easier to access format. Accordingly, we embarked on our most extensive update of www.missionscalifornia.com.

After months of research and hard work, we are proud to introduce our newly designed site with these great new features:

  • A completely updated and contemporary appearance for easier browsing and content viewing.
  • Mission specific information organized by mission with important key facts, fantastic images, historic drawings and other reference materials. This is where you can also access one of our most important features; a 4 to 5 minute Flash-based slide-show telling the full history of each mission.
  • Additional information on each mission, particularly a Plat of the mission property and architectural drawings of the church.
  • An illustrated description and history of the Indians who joined each mission.
  • Easier access to many of our popular content items, including our interactive mission map, detailed glossary, brilliant image galleries, engaging "California Stories", useful mission timeline and an enhanced version of our popular "Ask the Expert" feature.
  • An expanded and more robust search feature.
  • Special resources for registered visitors, including a download center (coming soon) for additional mission information and high-quality images.
